The middle East want to defend against “external aggression”
The foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia Adel al-Jubeir said that a number of Arab countries negotiating with the U.S. on a new security agreement to protect Middle East from “external aggression”.
He said that he discussed the creation of a middle Eastern strategic Alliance (MESA, Middle East Strategic Alliance).
According to the Saudi Minister, the Alliance may enter Egypt and Jordan.
“The goal is to reach an agreement on security in the middle East that can defend the region from external aggression and to strengthen relations between the United States and the countries of the region,” said al-Jubeir.
In addition, on Sunday, the U.S. state Department urged Gulf countries to strengthen friendly relations to counter Iran, creating Alliance MESA.
Media noted that the new Alliance would be similar to NATO.
