In the mountainous regions of Ivano-Frankivsk region recorded 17 degrees below zero. Rescuers advise tourists to refrain from Hiking in the mountains.

“Montenegrin mountain rescue post reports that on November 28 PIP Ivan chornohirskyi Northwest wind of 11 m/s, air temperature of -17 degrees. Management DSNs in Ivano-Frankivsk region resembles that in periods of deteriorating weather conditions the mountain travelers to refrain from Hiking in the Carpathians, because under such conditions even experienced tourists and are very easy to stray from the planned route, to lose known landmarks, to be in unfamiliar and dangerous places”, – informs regional management of gschs.
Those who still dare in this weather for a walk in the Carpathian mountains, rescuers are asked to remember that safety in the mountains depends on many factors, in particular – from proper training, organization, discipline, respect basic safety rules, consequently selected clothing, shoes, etc., and also from knowledge of the terrain and natural obstacles.
“If you decided to make a trip to the mountains, rescuers are encouraged to take care of the appropriate equipment depending on the characteristics of the route. Among the primary things – warm clothes and shoes, hats, mittens, GPS Navigator, supply of food, a thermos of hot tea, medicines. In winter conditions in any case don’t move around in the fog or darkness to avoid the loss of orientation, disruption from the eaves, and the like. Do not make the ascent or descent on the narrow couloirs where there is a danger of displacement of rocks or an avalanche. Regularly check driving direction on map and compass. If you get lost and there is no possibility to organize a safe night, then go back on the familiar path back. In case of threat to life and health of people, call by phone “101”, – say the experts and note that the main requirement is to register and to consult the employees of the mountain rescue service in relation to the selected route.
As reported in the press service of the Ivano-Frankivsk regional government of gschs, last week in search and rescue service signed up about a hundred tourists who made the ascent. Since the last week of November no tourist in the service were not recorded.
