The head of the ultimate fighting championship (UFC) Dana white refused to guarantee that the Russian Khabib Nurmagomedov will not be stripped of the championship belts because of the antics after the fight with Irishman Conor McGregor. He told this at a press conference, the broadcast which is on YouTube.
“I can’t 100 percent say that Habib has not taken away the belt. We are subject to a Commission of Nevada, and I’m sure it will take a tough decision. He needs to worry about her, not me. Habib has problems,” said white.
After the fight with McGregor, which Nurmagomedov strangled in the fourth round, Dagestan attacked a sparring partner, Irishman Dillon Dennis, who was outside of the octagon. After this, a mass brawl broke out, which was attended by members of both teams, McGregor, and police officers.
Despite the incident, the judge acknowledged the Russians won the battle, but white refused to give Nurmagomedov championship belt.
