The question of how serious should be the integration of Russia and Belarus should be decided by the citizens of both countries. This was stated by the Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko after negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Sochi. The video of his answer publishes Telegram-channel Pool “N3”.
“We are ready to go so far in unity, combining our efforts, States and peoples, as you are ready,” he said.
“And tomorrow we can team up together [with Putin], we have no problems,” he added, pointing to standing next to the Russian leader.
As reported RIA Novosti, Lukashenko said that the issues of sovereignty of any of the parties, no one is going to discuss, since the sovereignty of Russia and Belarus — “this icon is sacred”.
The leaders of the two countries touched upon during negotiations of the tax maneuver in the Russian oil industry, which is a contentious issue in bilateral relations.
The dispute in the oil and gas sector between Moscow and Minsk deteriorated in the end of last year, when Lukashenko called the upcoming Russia’s tax maneuver an attempt to disrupt the integration of: he Russian oil will be supplied to Belarus at European prices. At the talks in December the parties have not come to a consensus and agreed to establish a working group.
