Boris S. Dovhan was born in Kiev on Priorke.

Boris S. Dovhan was born in Kiev on Priorke, opposite the house where he once stayed Taras Shevchenko, and is now a branch of the Shevchenko Museum.

After graduation – on the creative work in parallel – from 1950 until 1961 he taught sculpture at the Kiev art school named after Taras Shevchenko.
Boris S. Dovgan, a member of the Second world war, a member of the Union of artists of Ukraine in 1965, Honorary academician of the National Academy of arts of Ukraine since 2009.
