16-year-old boy accused the newspaper of slander
In the U.S. state of Kentucky 16-year-old student Nicholas Sandman filed against the Washington Post the claim in the amount of $250 million, accusing the publication of libel.
The suit was filed for the photograph in which Sandman, smiling, talking to an activist, an elderly Hoosier Nathan Phillips. The caption to the photo States that the student was aggressive with Phillips. The publication sparked condemnation on social media, the plaintiff alleges that he began baiting.
In the statement of Sandman says that the newspaper “in an effort to promote their antaranews agenda” slandered him for belonging to the white race, Catholicism, moreover, he was wearing a baseball cap with the motto of the American President Donald trump “will once Again make America great”.
The Washington Post said that it is studying the claim and is going to “vigorously” defend itself.
